In partnership with the European Union in Rwanda, the Rulindo district officials and the Ministry of Agriculture inaugurated a new road joining Mbogo, Ngoma and Shyorongi sectors.

Locals lauded the presence of such infrastructure to facilitate communication and trade among neighbors. The road is 21 kilometers long and its completion required 1,7 billion Frw.

The road is made of strong material to make it last longer. The site was formerly used as a road that was less practicable as compared to the current one.

After the inauguration of this road, there are other two more roads to be rehabilitated in the coming few months. These roads are 9kilometers long and will be joining the Buyoga, Cyinzuzi and Mbogo sectors.

The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda Ambassador Michael Ryan said: “Not only has this programme finance financed the rehabilitation and maintenance of the 700 km of the feeder roads, it has also helped the authorities to better plan, manage and monitor this essential activity of  the rural population, we believe that the support of the EU has made a valuable contribution and poverty reduction of these people.”
