People residing in the mountainous region of Shyira and Matyazo nearby the river of Rugabagaba are in happy mood to receive electrical power plant and its installation that will accelerate the pace of development they are struggling to achieve. This power plant construction will be completed on September, this year.
The electrical power plant is currently being constructed at the Rugabagaba river. This activity is double-helpful for locals.
First, the water that destroyed people’s fields during rainy season will no longer be a threat and, secondly, if transformed; it will provide the electricity needed for development.
One of the locals Consolee Murebwayire expressed her appreciation towards this initiative, saying that the neighborhood will be enjoying a quick economic transformation due to electricity.
‘We have been waiting for this wonders to happen. Our first duty is to ensure its safety and its long lasting importance,’ she said.
The electrical power plant at Rubagabaga river is being constructed with the partnership of Rwandan government, East African Power and Afritech Energy.
The construction work is planned to end up on September this year and the plant will provide KW350 of electricity.
