During a swearing in- ceremony  held in the Parliament for the newly elected MPs for  the third term, President  Paul Kagame urged the MPs to uphold their efforts to develop Rwandans in all time and areas of national life.

President Kagame  said the MPs should work harder than before to deal with all concerns pertaining to Rwanda.

President Kagame thanked all Rwandans to have  voted in calm and commitment.

He urged the newly elected members of Parliament to utilize this privilege and prove that they deserve it.

“We cannot hide our appreciation on how women keep being numerous in the Parliament …Your presence here shows how Rwandans appreciate  your efforts and willingness. However Rwandans need more  from you… This new MPs should  be working harder than before so to find solutions to specific problems relating to our specific History” said H.E Paul Kagame.

President Paul Kagame told MPs that Rwandans in general and MPs particularly are obliged to work hard as to be self reliant in all areas of national life so to able to handle every matter that concerns Rwandans.

H.E.Paul Kagame underlined the importance of hard working as Rwandans are being treated by foreign nations as a nation that cannot define its political lines and pursue them at the end.

For H.E Paul Kagame, Rwanda will remain a strong nation as long as  its citizens are willing to develop it despite the foreign negative criticisms.

President Kagame reminded the MPs that nothing is better than cooperation between all administrative bodies and with the regional and international partners.

H.E denounced the international community  on its incessant reports on what is not going well as if nothing positive is produced from Rwanda.

The new Speaker of Parliament, Madame Mukabalisa Donatille, from PL political party(Parti Liberal) thanked the President of the Republic to have given women conducive environment to work for the nation and show to the public what a woman is able to achieve for Rwandans.

She promised that this new Parliament is eager to achieve the 2020 vision in all areas. The new Parliament will cooperate with its stakeholders as to materialize  all its long term objectives, she promised .

This new Parliament is made up by 80 parliamentarians  among whom 29 are men while 51 are women making 63,7% of total MPs. This keeps Rwanda as the first country having the biggest majority of women worldwide since 2008.

RPF Inkotanyi political party has 41 seats, PSD having 7  seats while PL has 5 seats from which the Speaker of Parliament is taken.
