Global Ovations’ Chief Executive Officer , Ghanaian Gideon Raj, has turned up in the Thousand Hills County, coming to introduce Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Festivals in Kigali.

Gideon Raj is partnering with Daniel Ndayishimye, the CEO of FCC Production

The festival for which he is the Executive Producer, is well recognized for providing opportunity to different African designers and models to usher. In Ghana, it started in 2014 under the name of “Mercedes Benz African Fashion Festival and then changed to Mercedes Fashion Week Accra.

In the exclusive interview with Umuseke, Raj clarifies that he has tripped to Rwanda just to witness country’s beauty and to plan how he can bring such a historic festival in Kigali.

“Rwanda has so many excellent fashioners who need to work as hard as possible to be stars internationally. Global Ovations partnering with FCC Production headed by Daniel Ndayishimye, we are privileged to internationally bolster Rwandan fashion level.”

He says despite loving their career, Rwandan fashioners do not reap from their sweats.

After the ban of second hand clothes, Raj proves it’s a big opportunity to Rwandan fashioners and that Global Ovations is dedicated to lend hands to them in a bid to make it more professional.

Raj says he has visited different shops whose products are made by Rwandan designers like Tanga Designs, Fathia Creation, Patrick Muhire and Moses Turahirwa.

“It’s a great opportunity to host this festival. We wanted to make it happen since long ago but failed because of many different reasons. We do believe it will undoubtedly develop Rwandan fashion on international level,” Adds Raj.

Till now, Mercedes Fashion Week Festivals are only hosted by Ghana although South Africa recently used to too.
