As the Heads of States forming the ICGLR  gathered in Angola, yesterday, they urged the Burundian government to postpone the elections of the President as the country undergoes serious political crisis based on the recent declaration that the current Head of State of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza wants to run for a third term, a decision  that created much controversy.

The ICGLR’s member states include Angola, Burundi, Republic of Congo, DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Angola has been at the helm of ICGLR beginning 2014 and is serving a two-year term.

The Heads of States present in the Summit discussed about the ongoing crisis in S.Sudan, DRC and the threatening terrorism that is endangering Kenya and Uganda.

Burundi did not send an official to attend the yesterday’s summit in Luanda, Angola.
