Rutayisire is graduated from the University for three years ago. After enduring the jobless situation he came up with a idea of encouraging local people to use land management techniques as to increase the agricultural production.
He agreed with the farmers to provide him with a turnover after observing the difference between the innovated farming techniques and the traditional ones.
Rutayisire dwells in Byamba Sector, Kibari cell, Gicumbi District. He wake up early in the morning and travel in the remote areas to search for people who are willing to learn more about modern farming techniques.
He observed that in the remote areas of Gicumbi district, the majority of farmers are not aware of the positive outcomes of using the modern farming techniques.
Some of the farmers trained by Rutayisire told UM– USEKE reporter in Gicumbi that formerly they weren’t aware of the importance of using the modern farming techniques.
We have currently witnessed that the use of the modern techniques reduces the risks of the landslides
as the region that includes Gicumbi district has a high mountain belt that is likely to cause landslides to happen.
For Rutayisire, teaching local farmers to utilize the land in effective way was his choice as he waited to get a job.
