Football game in Rwanda is ,more developed among men more than in women. To reverse this trend, well motivated women are keen to initiate young girls from across Rwanda to play football at the early age.
One those women is Rwemarika Felicite who affirms the aim will be achieved through helping y0ung girls in the countryside learn more football skills and apply them as they grow up.
She said that the initiative is backed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports as it provides political lines and necessarty tools to enable coaches and female players exercise the game freely and easily.
Rwemalika added their initiative is likely to be successful as the FIFA Live Your Goals support is granted for them.
We have been visiting five districts across the country namely Kicukiro, Huye, Rusizi, Nyagatare and Bugesera calling young girls to participate into our football challenge, she revealed.
Rwemalika added that a championship will be set up once well trained girls will be identified.
The ‘Live Your Goals Grassroots Festival’ bring together and FIFA in sharpening children’s talents in football playing and it has trained not less than 2000 children since its inception.
