Last Friday the President of the Republic Paul Kagame made a cabinet reshuffle. Some of the officials newly appointed include the Evariste Rugigana who replaced Odette Uwamariya in the Prime Ministry as the Director of Cabinet.

Odette Uwamariya said she is ready to better perform any duties that will be entrusted to her in the future

Uwamariya, who spent not more than eight months in this position, said that she is ready to assume all responsibilities that will be entrusted to her.

She is currently not appointed to any position yet.

She thanked HE Paul Kagame who has appointed her as the Director of Cabinet in past eight months.

Uwamariya welcomed her inheritor in that position, advising her to be ready to work hard and in harmony with others in the PM’ Office.

She told him to finalize ongoing projects such as the construction of a new Prime Minister’s office building that is soon to be completed.

Another project on the PM’s agenda that is meant to be monitored and finalized is the implementation of the 2017-2018 Parliamentary resolutions.

Rugigana Evariste has to coordinate implementation of policies entrusted to permanent secretaries from all Ministries as well as the implementation of the 2017-2018 Imihigo.

As he addressing the gathering Rugigana Evariste thanked President Paul Kagame for the trust he put on him as to become the Director of the Cabinet in PM’ Office.

Rugigana, who spent ten years working in the PM Office, said that he committed to perform well and wholeheartedly.

The handover was made also between the former Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Ms Alphonsine Mirembe(who is appointed as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry in charge of Presidential Affairs) and Doreen Kagarama who overtook her(Mirembe) in her former duties in the PM’s Office.

Prime Minister Dr Edouard Ngirente, who chaired the ceremony, thanked outgoing Uwamariya for her commitment on duty delivery since she joined the team eight months ago.

PM wished fruitful performances for the newly appointed officials.
