Kigali-.12th ,July 2013,The Ministry of Youth and Technology in close partnership with the ITU(International Telecommunication Union)has conducted a one day workshop on cyber-criminality and the law against it.

Different Computer experts attended the workshop

During the meeting the attendants discussed on legal issues against the cyber criminals and the ones that protect the computers users .

Emmanual Dusenge ,In Charge of infrastructures and logistics in The Ministry told Umuseke that most of people do not have enough insights on legal issues against cyber criminality, thus this workshop .

“There exist a legal text against these crimes but as technology improves every day ,we are eager to keep tracking these new technological inputs in order to set new law that hinder the technological threats from harming people privacy in their computers” He said.

For him the cyber attack is committed by people who are computer wizards.

The workshop mentioned that the most endangered are banks, press houses and telecommunication centers .

The Equity Bank Manager ,Remera Branch,revealed to Umuseke he as the Manager does not have more information in how technologically based threats operate.

Rwanda as a straightforward economy faces Cyber-attack as its population continues to be more technology wizards.ATM are being hacked in Rwandan Banks are and people’s money are being robbed freely.

Therefore the Ministry in Charge of Youth and Technology strives to reduce or eradicate these treats from befalling Rwandans .
