This incident happened last night when RDF soldiers were patrolling near the border between Rwanda and DRC. One of them was surprised by another one who appeared unexpectedly and shot him dead. The deadly incident took place in Rwangara cell in Cyanzarwe sector, Rubavu district, Westen province.

The incident shook people’s minds but local authorities calmed the situation.
News say that the dead one is named Caporal Nzeyimana who was patrolling with his collegues.
Umuseke editorial tried to contact the RDF Spokesperson to learn more from the incident but our efforts were vain.
Innocent Munyandekwe who is the executive secretary of the Nyakabanda cell told Umuseke that what happened was an accident as it was during the night time, soldiers patrolling.
He, however, promised that locals are safe and should keep attending their daily occupations as usual.
In 2013 when the war between M23 rebels and the DRC armed forces was raging, RDF and DRC’s forces fought but for a relatively small time.
