Seventy Police officers on Saturday started training in fighting and preventing Gender Based Violence at the National Police College in Musanze District as the force continues to capacitate its officers to effectively combat the vice.

The participants include District Community Liaison officers (DCLOs) and GBV Focal Points.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Administration and Personnel, Stanley Nsabimana presided over the launch of the training which will last for eight days.

DIGP Nsabimana said the training was organized to equip the officers with more skills and knowledge to strengthen the ongoing campaign against gender-related crimes in the country.

BV” DIGP Nsabimana said. He urged them to utilize this opportunity to accomplish their duties.

Inspector of Police, Jean d’ Arc Mukandahiro, the Director of Anti GBV in RNP the course is aimed at helping to further raise awareness against GBV and child abuse.
