Today, 19,July,2013 at the Kigali  International Airport ,16 Rwandans  were welcomed home from Malawi .They said they were bored to be called refugees and wanted to be home as any other Rwandan.

Returnees are very joyful to come back home.

Evelyn Nyandwi a mother who fled to Malawi told Umuseke.rw that in Malawi ,Rwandan refugees were and still are treated as foreigners who have to go back home.

Many of them went to Malawi after 2000 while two of them arrived in Malawi in in 1994 among whom Nyandwi.

The big majority of these refugees is made up by women and children with few men who affirm that Rwanda is a wonderful nation.

Frederic Ntawukuriryayo, The Public Relations Officer in the MIDMAR, told Umuseke.rw that after different efforts were joined together to let the refugees understand the importance of coming back home willingly, then sensitization bore significant results.

Some if the refugees came from European countries such as Belgium, Great Britain and from South Africa and even Swaziland .The total number of repatriated refugees is 313 elements.

They told  Umuseke,rw that they delayed to come back home due to different causes including poor news on Rwanda socio-economic situation .Among themselves some of them threatened others who expressed their willingness to come back home. All these factors among many others that hindered them from returning home soon.
